The Week in Flux - 07/16

We are proud to partner with Nadamucho.com, and Capitol Hill Block Party to present the Capitol Hill Block Party 2018 Artist Panel Series this Saturday, 07/21! There will be two sessions, the first being Strategies for Band Management: When and How to find a Talent Manger and How to Become a Talent Manager featuring Leigh Bezezekoff (Tractor Tavern), Austin Santiago (Do206, BuildStrong) SassyBlack, and Megan Ternes (Suicide Squeeze Records, Sasquatch Festival).

The second panel, Band Survival and Strategy: Generating an Income for your Band and How to Request a Guarantee will feature Marquetta Miller (Breaks and Swells), Adam Prairie (The Hoot Hoots), Steve Severin (Neumos, Wake Up Presents) and Charlie Deane (Chop Suey, Sleeping Lessons, Mercer x Summit Music Festival).

Both panels will be moderated by Lo Flux head honcho Kelly Fleek. The event is free to the public. There will be a networking lunch with pizza provided by Mario's Pizza at noon with the first panel starting at 1pm.

This is an excellent opportunity to meet others in the Seattle music scene, gain insight from leaders in the community and take the next step in your music career. Don't miss it!

"Chill with You", the new single from Breaks and Swells, premiered at Aipate.com last week. "Vocalist Marquitta Miller vocals dominate the song but you will not fail to love the groovy bassline and the melodies. Something for the salsa dancers

"Chill with You" was also added to Bristol Funk's "Sunday Soul & RnB Fix" on Spotify! Check out the playlist now!

New Noise Magazine premiered the new Asterhouse opus, "The Dead Victorians" last week. "The record is a fuzzed out, good time rocking album with plenty of lyrical brevity. Opening the record is “Cartoon Violence” which is incredibly depth in its message and its guitar tones. “Baseball Heaven” has a more sentimental, airy approach that blends different leads and licks together until the crashing middle piece. There are a few intimate songs on the record as well, found in “Beautiful” and “The Last Time.” Otherwise, the songs are dissonant or eerie, loudly bombastic and full of attitude."
